  MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 15 JANUARY 2026

 

Present: Chairman: A Gosling

Councillor:  C Gosling, C Smith, L Pearson, A Quickfall, J Barton 

 

Also present Mrs C Anderton – Clerk of the Council

Public Forum

There were  no members of the public in attendance.

 

2026/01    Apologies

Apologies were received prior to the meeting from Cllr A Arundell, Cllr P Bedford and Cllr D Broughton. 

 

2026/02   Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.

There were no interests declared.

 

2026/03   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 09 December 2025 be approved and signed by the Chairman. 

 

2026/04  Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council 

There were no reports received from external bodies.

 

2026/05   Butterwick Park 

There were no issues to report.

 

2026/06 Bus Provision through the village.

The clerk confirmed that although she had constantly chased this matter, she still had not received any further communication from Lincolnshire CC. Cllr Peason reported that she had tried multiple times to book a journey on Call Connect to be informed that there wasn’t one at the time required and to either walk to the stop on the A52 at Benington or to the stop at Haltoft End, Freiston. Members agreed this was unacceptable and the clerk stated she would forward the messages received by Cllr Pearson on to Deon Fischer at Lincolnshire CC who had been dealing with the matter.

 

2026/07 Councillor vacancy

The clerk confirmed that as the deadline had passed to call an election, members were now able to co-opt a new member onto the council and a notice would be displayed on the noticeboard inviting applications from parishioners.

 

2026/07 Planning Application: B/25/0475 

10 Tyler Crescent, Butterwick, Boston, PE22 0JT First floor extension and ancillary alterations.

There were no comments, observations or objections for this proposal.

 

2026/08 To review the Co-option, Communication and Risk Management policy.

Members received copies of the policies and agreed there were no changes necessary. 

 

 2026/09  Finance 

It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 01/2026.

Precept

The clerk provided members of the Council with a budget forecast for the 2026/27 financial year, members discussed the budget and RESOLVED that the Precept should remain the same at £30,000.00

 

2026/10   Matters for discussion or to be added to the next agenda.

Cllr A Gosling stated that the sign on Old Post Office Lane was still missing however he was under the understanding that it had been reported on FixMyStreet in June 2025. The clerk stated she would check to see if there was a report and if not would report it again..

Cllr Quickfall reported that the defibrillator pads were out of date and required replacements. The clerk stated that she would contact Lives to arrange delivery of new ones.

 

2026/11  Date of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 10 February 2026. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
