MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 10 MARCH 2026

Also present Mrs C Anderton – Clerk of the Council
 
Public Forum
One member of the public was in attendance to deliver a personal statement to support her application for the Parish Councillor vacancy.  
 
2026/25    Apologies
Apologies were received prior to the meeting from Cllr D Broughton and from Cllr P Bedford.
 
2026/26   Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.
There were no interests declared.
 
2026/27   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting
It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 10 February 2026 be approved and signed by the Chairman. 
 
2026/28  Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council 
Cllr Arundell provided a verbal report updating members of the council on Lincolnshire CC budget intentions and the areas they were looking to focus on. Cllr Broughton provided a written report via email to all councillors. 
 
2026/29   Butterwick Park 
The clerk confirmed that the letter had been sent to the resident who had made the social media post.  The Chairman reported that members of the public were throwing bags of dog foul into the hedges surrounding the park which was making it difficult for the contractor to flail them.
 
2026/30 Bus Provision through the village.
The clerk confirmed that she had communicated the response from members of the council in that it wasn’t the app which was the issue but the availability of buses and Call Connect transport. The clerk had been informed that the concerns and feedback had now been passed to the appropriate department who should be able to provide a detailed response to the enquiry. It had also been confirmed that there were only 2 buses that serviced the Boston area of which a link had been provided.
 
2026/31 Councillor vacancy
The clerk confirmed that there had been a further enquiry and an application form had been sent out.
 
2026/32  Finance 
It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 03/2026.
Annual grants were awarded to 10th Boston Scouts, Baby and Toddlers Group and FBBL parish magazine.
Cllr Barton asked if members could consider awarding a grant to the Village Hall  for the CCTV system which they were hoping to install. Members asked for further information regarding the system before awarding funds.
 
2026/33   Matters to be added to the next agenda.

2026/34  Co-option discussion
Members of the council discussed the application which had been received and the personal statement given at the beginning of the meeting and RESOLVED to co-opt Mrs Claire Payne onto Butterwick Parish Council.
 
2026/35  Date of the next Parish Council Meeting
Date of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 12 April 2026. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
