MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON

                                                           TUESDAY 14th JULY 2026

Public Forum

1 member of the public attended to highlight issues with the verges around the village, the grass at the side of the flats, Russian Ivy creeping across the footpath and the general appearance of the village being shoddy.

 

2026/69    Apologies

Apologies were received from Cllr D Broughton.

 

2026/70   Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.

There were no interests declared.

 

2026/71   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 9 June 2026 be approved and signed by the Chairman.

 

2026/72  Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council

Cllr A Arundell and Cllr P Bedford provided verbal reports regarding matters at both County Council and Borough Council levels.

 

2026/73   Butterwick Park

The clerk presented the quotation she had received to address the entrances to the car park at the park, members RESOLVED to accept the quote and the clerk to inform Vere Bros to schedule the repairs. The clerk confirmed that she had been unable to obtain the contact details to invite a representative from The Hope Charity to attend the meeting and asked if Cllr Barton could assist with this matter.

 

2026/74 Speeding through the village  

Various locations were discussed with Cllr Arundell who advised he would forward a request to Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership for traffic speed monitoring.

 

2026/75  Finance

It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 06/2026.

The clerk also informed members that she had received a request to cover the cost of tree removal in the Churchyard. The Chairman asked for clarification as to if the total cost was being requested or a contribution to the cost.

 

2026/76   Matters for discussion or to be added to the next agenda.

Cllr Pearson asked if the footpaths at Brand End Road and Girls School Lane has been cut by Lincolnshire County Council, the clerk confirmed she would look into it.

 

2026/77  Date of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 11 August 2026. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
