MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 9 NOVEMBER 2021

There were no items for the public forum. 

2021/77     Apologies

There were no apologies

2021/78     Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.

There were no interests declared.

2021/79   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting

It was proposed and accepted that the notes of the meeting held 12 October 2021 be approved and signed by the Chairman.

2021/80   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council 

There were no matter to report.

2021/81 Issues relating to the environment of the Parish

Council discussed the provision of a Christmas tree and lights to be placed again on the green area in front of The Five Bells pub and agreed to source a tree and good quality lights. 

The clerk stated that she had received a call from a parishioner asking if it was possible to look into providing a pavement where the grassed area traversed the corner from Sea Lane to Benington Road opposite the public house. The council discussed this and it was the opinon that it would not be possible. The parishioner had also enquired if the council could address the issue of traffic at the school. Cllr Forman informed the Council that he believed the school caretaker was in attendance in a morning to assist with traffic control.

It was proposed and agreed that Cllr Knowles would obtain and lay the wreath at the Remembrance Service.

2021/82  Finance

It was proposed and agreed to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 11/2021.

2021/83  Councillor Grant Sheme

The clerk confirmed that the grant had been approved and Boston Borough Council had requested that they be kept updated with the progress on the Platinum Jubilee event. The clerk suggested lots of photographs be taken of the event to send on.

2021/84  Matters for discussion or to be added to the next agenda

Cllr Smith stated that the response which had been received from Lincolnshire County Council regarding the overhanging tree on Brand End Road was not acceptable and that there should be further discussions to deal with the tree. The clerk stated that there was nothing further she could do in respect of this matter as LCC had confirmed they would monitor the situation but were not in a position to do anything with the tree at this time.

The clerk reminded the council that the setting of the Precept would be discussed at the next meeting.

2021/85  Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date and time of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 14 December 2021 beginning at 7.30pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed at 7.52 pm.
