MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 12 AUGUST 2025

Public Forum
There were 2 members of the public in attendance to highlight issues with the verge grass cutting, speeding traffic along Butterwick Road and instances of bad behaviour from a few younger children in the area. The Chairman confirmed he would speak to the grass cutting contractor regarding the verges, the clerk confirmed that there was a TRO currently being considered by Lincolnshire CC regarding the speed limits and for residents to contact 101 in the case of the bad behaviour.
2025/70 Apologies
Apologies were received prior to the meeting from Cllr C Gosling, Cllr K Forman and Cllr D Broughton.
2025/71 Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.
There were no interests declared.
2025/72 Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting
It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 08 July 2025 be approved and signed by the Chairman.
2025/73 Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council
Cllr D Broughton provided an emailed report directly to members.
Cllr P Bedford gave a verbal report.
2025/74 Butterwick Park
The Chairman reported that he had contacted the contractors who had laid the tarmac on the pathway through the park who confirmed that they would investigate the issue of weeds growing through and would address these with a strong weedkiller in the first instance.
2025/75 Bus Provision through the village
The clerk confirmed that she had not received any further communication regarding an alternative site to date however she would chase this up. Cllr Pearson reported that the Brylaine bus times had changed but the app had not been updated. The clerk confirmed she would contact Brylaine to raise the issue.
2025/76 To discuss a donation towards the FBBL village magazine
The clerk advised members that she had received correspondence from the creators of a new Parish Magazine, which was available for the parishes of Freiston, Butterwick, Benington and Leverton, asking if the Parish Council would like to make a donation towards the ongoing cost of producing it. There would be 10 magazines available throughout the year for residents to access either online or in various locations across the 4 villages. Members discussed and welcomed the introduction of the magazine and RESOLVED to add £200 to the annual donation list towards it.
2025/77 Finance
It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 08/2025.
2025/78 Footway Lighting
The clerk reported that she had received confirmation that S/L 5 outside 44 Brand End Road was faulty and needed replacing with a LED lamp. Members RESOLVED for the lamp to be replaced.

2025/79 Date of the next Parish Council Meeting
Date of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 9 September 2025. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
