BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY  14 MARCH 2023

Public Forum

There were no items for the public forum.

2023/21     Apologies

Cllr M Knowles had given his apologies prior to the meeting.

2023/22     Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.

There were no interests declared.

2023/23   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 14 February 2023 be approved and signed by the Chairman.

2023/24   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council 

Cllr Peter Bedford and Cllr Paul Skinner gave verbal reports to the council. 

2023/25 Issues relating to the environment of the Parish.

The Chairman presented the alternative quotation to install the bench in the Village Hall car park which he had received from Mick Vend. Both the quotes that had been received were discussed and members of the Council RESOLVED to proceed with the quote from Mick Vend. The Chairman confirmed he would contact Mr Vend and ask that the bench be installed at the earliest convenience.

2023/26  The Coronation of King Charles

The Chairman confirmed that an independent village committee had been formed to arrange the celebrations for the coronation. These were to include a ‘Casino Night’ in the village hall on the Friday evening preceding the event and an afternoon tea and children’s bouncy castle on the day of the coronation.

2023/27  Footway Lighting

Members of the council discussed the cost of replacing the footway lighting bulbs with LED lights and requested a further quote to place an additional post between No 23 Brand End Road and the Post Office. The clerk confirmed she would obtain a quote for the works and would add this item to the next agenda.

2023/28  Finance

It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 03/2023.

2023/29   Matters for discussion or to be added to the next agenda.

Cllr N Donnelly asked that a further email be sent to BT regarding the upkeep of the hub on Brand End Road as nothing had been done, the clerk confirmed she would follow up on the email sent last year. 

2023/30  Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date and time of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 11 April 2023 beginning at 7.30pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
