MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 13 FEBRUARY 2024

There were no members of the public in attendance.

2024/09    Apologies

Cllr C Gosling was not in attendance and no apologies had been received for his absence.

2024/10     Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.

There were no interests declared.

2024/11   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 9 January 2024 be approved and signed by the Chairman.

2024/12   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council 

Cllr P Skinner provided a verbal report on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.

Cllr D Broughton provided an update on behalf of Boston Borough Council

2024/13 Butterwick Park 

The Chairman confirmed the resurfacing of the play area had been completed satisfactorily however due to the ongoing inclement weather the contractor had not been able to complete the painting.

2024/14 Footway Lighting

The clerk had received a report that the light no3 on Girls School Lane and light no5 at the junction of Mill Lane and the A52 were faulty. Members of the council RESOLVED for the contractor to replace them with new 18watt LED.

2024/15  Finance

It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 02/2024.

2024/16   Matters for discussion or to be added to the next agenda.

Cllr Bedford reported that the dyke running between Butterwick and Freiston was flooding over into the adjoining fields which were now waterlogged and unable to drain away, Cllr Bedford suggested that the connecting tunnels in the dykes be blown through. The Chairman stated he would contact Neil Sharpe at TH Clements to arrange for this to be done.

Cllr A Quickfall raised an issue to Cllr P Skinner relating to the intended pavement resurfacing works scheduled to be carried out in Tyler Crescent, Marshall Grove and Centenary Crescent.  She stated that these works would be better suited to the Brand End Road pavement as this was in a much worse state of repair and the remaining council members were in full agreement with this. Cllr Skinner confirmed he would address this with the Highways Officer.

2024/17  Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date and time of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 12 March 2024 beginning at 7.30pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
