May 2024 Minutes Annual Parish Council Meeting

MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 14 MAY 2024

Present:   Chairman:    A Gosling

Vice Chairman:  L Pearson

Councillor:     K Forman, A Quickfall, C Smith, Craig Gosling

Also present   Mrs C Anderton – Clerk of the Council

Public Forum

There were no members of the public in attendance.

24/36  To Elect the Chairman for the 2024/25 Administration Period

It was proposed by Cllr K Forman that Cllr A Gosling continue in the position of Chairman for the next administration period which was seconded by Cllr C Smith and carried unanimously.

24/37  To receive the declarations of Acceptance of the Office of Chairman

The Chairman completed the Acceptance of Office form which was also signed by the clerk.

24/38 To Elect a Vice Chairman for the 2024/25 Administration Period

It was proposed by Cllr K Forman that Cllr L Pearson continue in the role of Vice-Chairman which was carried unanimously.

2024/39    Apologies

The clerk had not received any apologies prior to the meeting.

2024/40   Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the           Localism Act 2011.

There were no interests declared.

2024/41   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 9 April 2024 be approved and signed by the Chairman.

2024/42 Butterwick Park 

The Chairman confirmed that the park refurbishment works had now been fully completed. 

The light which had been highlighted as dangerous was discussed and members RESOLVED that the Chairman contact Graham Walsgrave to remove the light.

2024/43  Finance

It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 05/2024 and the documents for the Annual Audit 2023/24.

2024/44   Matters for discussion or to be added to the next agenda.

The clerk had forwarded to members, details regarding the following:

PROPOSED WAITING RESTRICTIONS, 30MPH AND 40MPH SPEED LIMITS – BUTTERWICK SCHOOL LANE BUTTERWICK ROAD  

Members discussed this at length and it was agreed that the clerk draft a letter of response to include the suggestion of a static speed camera or an average speed camera throughout the village as this may also help  to slow down tractors and other heavy agricultural vehicles. It was suggested to add this item to the next agenda.

2024/45  Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date and time of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 11 June 2024 at 7.30pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
