MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BUTTERWICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 9 JULY 2024

2024/55    Apologies

Cllr D Broughton provided his apologies

2024/56     Receipt of any declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011.

There were no interests declared.

2024/57   Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting

It was RESOLVED that the notes of the meeting held 11 June 2024 be approved and signed by the Chairman.

2024/58   Reports from Lincolnshire County Council and Boston Borough Council 

Cllr P Skinner provided a verbal report on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.

Cllr P Bedford also provided a verbal report on behalf of Boston Borough Council

Cllr D Broughton provided a written report on behalf of Boston Borough Council

2024/59   Butterwick Park 

The clerk confirmed she had arranged a meeting with the fabricators to discuss repairs/replacement of the footbridge. The clerk asked if Cllr Forman could also attend this meeting to give a second view on what was required. Cllr C Gosling confirmed that he had received a positive response to the Council’s request for the North Sea Camp volunteers to carry out small cleaning/maintenance jobs around the park and the village. Members of the council suggested 1 hour per week in the first instance. Cllr C Gosling confirmed he would consult with the Governor to arrange this.

2024/60   TPO - Proposed waiting and speed restrictions School Lane/Butterwick Road 

In response to the members question of how the TPO would be enforced Cllr P Skinner confirmed that enforcement officers would be deployed in the area.

2024/61  Finance

It was RESOLVED to accept the payments as per the payment sheet 07/2024.

2024/62   Matters for discussion or to be added to the next agenda.

The clerk confirmed that she had spoken with the Charities Commission in respect of the village hall and had been advised that the Hall was not registered with them however,  if the income was above a certain level it would need to be registered as a charity. The clerk advised that the committee arrange to do this as soon as possible with the help of the local YMCA representative.  

Members discussed the village sign and agreed it needed cleaning, the Chairman also stated that the bus shelter required some maintenance. It was agreed these items could be put forward for the North Sea Camp volunteers to do. The Chairman stated that he would ask Graham Walsgrave for a quote to refelt the roof.

2024/63  Date and Time of the next Parish Council Meeting

Date and time of the next Meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 13 August 2024. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed.
